TIM-BR MART CELEBRATES SIX STORE OPENINGS ACROSS CANADA

July 17, 2007 (Calgary, AB) – Spring and summer have been busy for TIM-BR MART, celebrating store Grand Openings at six locations from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, since mid-April.

Spring kicked off with the brand new Standard Building Supplies Grand Opening in North Vancouver, BC on April 11 – the same store was the site of the official launch of TIM-BR MART’s EnerGrade initiative and the Federal government’s ecoENERGY program. New to the North Vancouver market, the 20,000 s.f. retail area features a wide assortment of products and an enclosed drive-thru warehouse operation that provides customers purchasing building materials (primarily contractors) the convenience of driving their vehicle to the product for pick-up and a quicker buying experience.
May was the biggest month of activity with four Grand Openings in Ontario and Alberta.

On May 18, customers in Washago, ON were welcomed to Washago TIM-BR MART’s new store (located on the same site as the previous operation). A larger format with an increased product mix, the new store offered additional Team Members for the newly expanded estimating and contractor sales department as well as for the enhanced Kitchen, Bath, Seasonal and Paint departments. Lending a hand to the contractor customer, the store includes a designated meeting room where contractors can plan projects with their clients right in the Washago TIM-BR MART.

New Dealer Paul Herlehy welcomed customers to tour the newly renovated Westport TIM-BR MART in Westport, ON starting May 25th. Along with updating their look to fully incorporate the TIM-BR MART brand inside and out, the store added new services like plan estimation and custom wood-cutting, and introduced new Kitchen and Bath departments to help consumers planning renovations. Customers can also shop the expanded product assortment in Plumbing, Electrical, Paint and hand tools.

On the same weekend as Westport, two Woodland TIM-BR MART stores celebrated their Grand Re-Openings in Grand Prairie, AB and Fairview, AB.

In addition to expanding their product assortment by almost 30%, the Woodland Grand Prairie, AB location is the flagship site of TIM-BR MART’s new format store design. With a greater retail focus, the highlight of this layout offers customers considering major interior renovations an opportunity to tour the new Kitchen and Bath Design Galleries. By showing the end-use of the full array of products in completed ‘vignettes’ – everything from lighting to flooring - customers are able to see and feel the choices in fixtures and can make important buying decisions for renovations to these two key rooms in their home.

The Woodland Fairview, AB renovation fully integrated the TIM-BR MART brand in the interior and exterior visual treatments and the newer, fresh looking store has an improved layout to create a better and more convenient shopping experience with 25% more products to choose from. Continuing to focus on their contractor customer, the store took the renovation as an opportunity to tweak their merchandising and made common contractor products available in large quantities at a convenient location near the entrance.

And in early June, King St. TIM-BR MART opened the doors of their new store bringing the TIM-BR MART brand and level of knowledgeable service to the town of Shelburne, NS. The location features the traditional assortment of building supply materials and hardware items, and it also fills a need in the local marketplace with the addition of a décor and window treatment department. Customers wishing to purchase lumber and other building materials will also find the convenience of a covered drive-thru warehouse.
